Acupuncture is an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves inserting fine needles or applying a laser beam to specific points on the body to regulate the flow of energy (Qi) and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Core Concepts of Acupuncture in TCM Energy Flow (Qi): TCM posits that life energy flows through the body along pathways known as meridians. Illnesses arise when this flow is blocked or disrupted.
Holistic Approach: Treatment addresses not just the isolated symptom, but the individual imbalance of the whole person.
Mechanism of action: Targeted needle stimulation releases blockages. From a Western perspective, this stimulates the nervous system and leads to the release of neurotransmitters (e.g., endorphins), which can relieve pain and inhibit inflammation.

Common Areas of Application of Laser Acupuncture
Acupuncture and laser acupuncture are used to treat both acute and chronic conditions:
Pain management: Chronic back or knee pain, migraines, and headaches.
Respiratory tract: Allergies, asthma, and bronchitis.

RAC pulse diagnosis: Determination of the ideal laser resonance frequency and, for example, interference fields.
Complementary techniques: Often combined with moxibustion (warming the points with mugwort), cupping, and laser therapy, ideally with meridian frequencies according to Dr. Manfred Reininger:

The NOGIER pulse is also known as RAC (Reflex Auriculo Cardial), Autonomic Circulatory Reaction, or VAS (Vascular Autonomic Signal). In practice, the physician examines the patient’s skin or outer ear. With one hand, they hold the laser; with the other, they take the patient’s pulse. The patient’s radial pulse is taken very carefully, which requires a great deal of practice. Normally, the pulse is felt by placing the thumb perpendicular to the radial artery against the styloid process.
The practitioner typically perceives the VAS phenomenon as a qualitative variation in the sensation of the pulse. It begins one to three cycles after the stimulus is applied. This signal appears without any change in heart activity and can last for eight to 15 heart cycles. The Nogier pulse affects the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic). The modification of the VAS is mediated by the unconscious autonomic nervous system and corresponds to a neurological reflex.
Laser acupuncture (LaserPen or Physiolaser) is a modern, pain-free alternative to traditional needle acupuncture, in which acupuncture points are stimulated using focused laser light instead of needles. It combines the traditional knowledge of TCM regarding meridians with modern light technology and resonance frequencies based on the work of Dr. Frank Bahr and Dr. Manfred Reininger.
Advantages of laser acupuncture over needle acupuncture Pain-free: Since the skin is not pierced, the treatment is ideal for children, highly sensitive individuals, and patients with a fear of needles. Infection prevention: There is no risk of inflammation or bruising at the insertion sites.
Additional biostimulation: The laser light penetrates deep into the tissue, where it directly promotes blood circulation and cell regeneration.
Versatile frequencies: Therapists can set the laser to pulse in order to provide soothing or stimulating stimuli as needed. Pre-programmed frequencies include those based on the methods of Dr. Paul Nogier and Dr. Frank Bahr.
Laser acupuncture covers the entire spectrum of traditional acupuncture, but is particularly effective for:
